Fire Cider

What is fire cider?

Fire Cider is a traditional tonic made from a mixture of raw, organic, and unfiltered apple cider vinegar, garlic, onions, horseradish, ginger, and other spices and herbs. It is commonly used as a home remedy to boost the immune system, improve digestion and alleviate cold and flu symptoms.

When to make it?

Fire cider can be made at any time of the year, but many people prefer to make it during the fall or winter months when the ingredients are in season and cold and flu season is in full swing.

In the fall, the ingredients for fire cider, such as garlic, onions, horseradish, and ginger, are often readily available at farmers' markets and grocery stores. Making fire cider during this time also allows for a longer steeping period, as the mixture can be left to infuse for several weeks before being ready to consume.

How long it takes to make it?

Filling the jar with all ingredients is not taking long time but you need to wait few weeks until is ready to consume. The time depends on the recipe and personal preference.
You can find one great recipe below.
After the steeping period, the mixture is typically strained and honey is added to taste. Some recipes suggest letting the fire cider sit for an additional week or two after adding honey to allow the flavors to meld.
