Herbal Infusion Honey Jar

This recipe not only offers a delightful flavor but also brings the potential benefits of the herbs used. It's a beautiful addition to your collection of jar recipes and can make a wonderful homemade gift too!

- The longer the infusion, the stronger the flavor.
- You can customize this recipe with different combinations of herbs and flowers.
- Always use dried herbs to prevent moisture from spoiling the honey.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup raw honey (preferably organic)
- 1/4 cup dried edible flowers and herbs (like lavender, rose petals, chamomile, or thyme)
- A clean, dry jar with a tight-fitting lid

Instructions:

1. Select Your Herbs and Flowers:
Choose your dried herbs and flowers based on your flavor preferences and desired benefits.
For example, lavender for relaxation, chamomile for soothing, rose for a floral touch, and thyme for a hint of earthiness.

2. Prepare the Jar:
Ensure your jar is thoroughly cleaned and completely dry.
Any moisture can spoil the honey.

3. Layer the Herbs and Honey:
Gently place a layer of dried herbs at the bottom of the jar.
Slowly pour honey over the herbs until they are fully covered.
Add more layers until the jar is nearly full,
ensuring the top layer is honey.

4. Seal and Store:
Tightly seal the jar. Let it sit in a cool, dark place for at least 1 week.
This allows the flavors and properties of the herbs to infuse into the honey.

5. Enjoy:
Use your herbal infusion honey as a sweetener in tea, drizzled over yogurt or oatmeal, or as a spread on toast. It's also a great addition to salad dressings or marinades.

Optional - Strain:
If you prefer a smooth texture, you can strain the honey to remove the herbs after the infusion period.
